New Southgate lies at the junction of Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey. The area is nice, middle class and residential, and popular with families because of the access to good schools and great green space. Since 2010, there has been a big regeneration scheme called Shaping New Southgate, which has focused on regenerating the Ladderswood Way estate and adjoining industrial estate and is due for completion in 2017.
There are a lot of families in the area, as well as some notable communities, including a sizable Jewish community. The area does have a villagey feel, distinct even from its neighbours, including Southgate.
New Southgate is a very safe place to live, but there are concerns about burglary, robbery, and vehicle/car crime. It was number 19 on a list of the 20 postcodes with the highest rate of burglary insurance claims in January 2015.
According to Parkopedia, there are several locations where it is possible to park for 2 hours for £0-4.
Not a nightlife destination. There are some nice bars, pubs, and restaurants in the area.

Arnos Grove Tube Station is on the Piccadilly Line (Zone 4). Rail services from New Southgate and Palmers Green provide access to Moorgate, or to Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage in the other direction. There are several local bus routes, and the North Circular and the M25 are within easy reach.
