Totteridge is a village on the northern fringe of London that has benefitted from the capital's green belt. It feels like the countryside, despite being a relatively well-connected suburb that's located about 10 miles from Central London. Attracting people who could choose to live anywhere - including business magnates and top footballers, and their families - Totteridge has more than its fair share of charm.

This area is beloved by its residents and has a great deal of staying power. It is a true village, with a village green, and just one pub. There are many community organisations and activities here.

While the Met Police records Totteridge ward as having 'average' crime levels, the 2014/2015 crime rate reveals both the overall rate and the violence against the person rate to have been significantly lower than for London overall. Totteridge is below the Barnet categories in all levels of crimes, according to a 2013 ward profile.

Parking

Totteridge is a village on the fringe of North London, with a rate of car ownership that is significantly higher than that of London overall, with a little more than one car per household. The area has good road connections, particularly access to the M25 and M1.

Nightlife

Totteridge itself has a popular gastropub, but residents have to go to nearby Whetstone for shops, cafes, and restaurants - nevermind nightclubs.

Totteridge is a village with larger family homes, abundant green space, and access to activities from horse riding to golf - making it an ideal place to raise a family. The area's schools are typically very good, with Ofsted reports ranging from 'good' to 'outstanding' and choice between state and private education. About 1 in 5 residents is a child aged 0-14. 

Pet Friendly

A distinct village with a village green and no shortage of parks and walking trails, this is an excellent place to own a dog. Homes tend to be larger and more spacious here, and there are numerous families and pets taking advantage of amenities like the Dollis Valley Greenwalk. There are also numerous places that are ideal for horse riding. 

Transport

Totteridge is located in Travelcard Zone 4, and Totteridge and Whetstone station is on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line. Oakleigh Park station has rail services to the City. There are good bus connections to Edgware or Arnos Grove and toward Barnet or Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The area has good access to the M25 and M1.
