Along the famed Causeway Coastal Route from Belfast lies the Town and Borough of Larne. Two thirds of the borough has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the town has recently benefitted from a great deal of renovation, spruce-up, and restoration investment, as well as programmes designed to support youth employment. The seaport has been in use for over a millennium, and the coastal area around Larne is thought to be once of the earliest inhabited areas of Ireland. Larne remains a busy port and industrial market town, set in some of the most beautiful landscape of the UK.
