The large town of Ballymena is in County Antrim, and its Saturday market has been held weekly since 1626. The surrounding areas of the town, including Cushendun Village and the picturesque Glendun, regularly draw tourists, as do the major attractions of County Antrim like the Giant’s Causeway — however, Ballymena itself has a lot to offer. In addition to hosting one of the oldest market fairs in the world, the town is known for having numerous historical buildings and heritage that dates back to the Early Christian period. But since you can’t live on scenery alone, Ballymena also offers great schools, a wide range of affordable housing, and excellent retail and leisure facilities. The town also has excellent transport connections, with trains running to Belfast regularly and taking about 45 minutes.
