Living in

Before the 1859 enclosure award, South Acton was farmland which later became one of the most intensive phases of development in London around that time. When the British Land Company acquired numerous fields within the area, they then laid out a grid of terraced streets which saw thousands of Londoners arrive to find a secure job and an affordable home to live in. The evolution of South Acton began around 2012 when a 15-year scheme was put in place to transform the estate into an ‘Urban Village’ called Acton Gardens, essentially smartening up the area to become an up-and-coming London gem.
