Living in

Maida Hill is a very well-situated neighbourhood that is especially popular with young, single professionals. With good local pubs, attractive Victorian streets, and prices that are a bargain if you compare them to nearby Little Venice and Notting Hill, the area has a lot of attractions in its own right - however, its proximity to highly desirable areas like their more expensive neighbours, in addition to good transport links, are also selling points.

The area has a laid-back feel despite its central location, and is home to a very diverse community. 

Safety

The Met police website marks this neighbourhood and the surrounding area as having average crime. The nearby high crime hotspots include Paddington and Westfield London. The 2014/2015 crime rate was slightly lower than that of London overall, but the violence against the person rate was slightly higher. 

Parking

Parking can be somewhat tricky in this area, and there can be some traffic congestion. Half as many people own cars in this neighbourhood as do people in London overall, at a rate of less than one car per every two households. The area is situated on the A40. 

Nightlife

A good number of local pubs and restaurants. Good transport links to and from nightlife hotspots like Camden. 

Family Friendly

There are a number of smaller parks and squares in this area, canal access, and Paddington Recreation Ground is close by, but the nearest large parks are either Kensington Gardens to the south or Regent's Park to the east. There is a range of good schools in the area. The age distribution in this neighbourhood is similar to that of London as a whole, with about 1 in 5 residents being a child aged 0-15.

Transport

Warwick Avenue (Zone 2) is on the Bakerloo Line. Royal Oak and Westbourne Park (Zone 2) are on the Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines. The area is served by many buses, as well as some night buses. It is situated on the A40.
