Upper Norwood is an area within South East London which sits in the Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon and Lambeth. Located in the North of Croydon along the London Clay Ridge, known as Beulah Hill, Upper Norwood has accommodation from both the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with a mix of large detached properties and smaller semi-detached properties. The area is one of the highest in London and so the hill boasts panoramic views of Northward to Central London and Southward to Central Croydon and the North Downs.

There is a great mix of ethnicities within the area where heritage of White/Black British, Black Caribbean and Black African can be found. Upper Norwood offers residents large amounts of woodlands to be explored, with an extensive natural oak forest which formed a wilderness close to the southern edge of the City of London. With amenities and venues to enjoy in the local area such as Vintage stores, Gastro Pubs, The Crystal Palace Market, Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and the South Norwood Lake and Grounds, Upper Norwood has some great entertainment options on offer.

Upper Norwood has a slightly above average crime rate for London, residents should remain cautious as they should in most largely populated locations across London.

Private parking options are available at either an hourly or monthly fee within 15 minutes of this location. Residents can choose from secure spaces including, Treloar Gardens, Braybrooke Gardens, Norbury Hill, Annsworthy Crescent and more, which are a mix of both reasonable and slightly high-costing parking.

Nightlife

Westow Hill has some great nightlife options for the residents of Upper Norwood. There are many Pubs, Bars, Restaurants and Cocktail venues for locals to enjoy, and if they'd like more of a choice they can also head over to Norbury and Streatham which are nearby.

This area has a wide selection of local Schools nearby, for example, All Saints Primary School, Kingswood Primary School (Upper Site), Kensington Avenue Primary School and St Joseph's College, all of which are adequate education options for parents to choose from.

Pet Friendly

Upper Norwood is certainly suitable for pet owners. The area has many local parks offering open green spaces which are perfect for a dog and their owner to enjoy. Options include, Norbury Hall Park, Beulah Hill Pond, Westow Park and South Norwood Country Park.

Transport

Norbury Train Station provides access to the Southern Railway service where residents are able to easily commute to surrounding areas and to central London. There are also Bus routes that run throughout the area, useful for those who are looking for local travel.
