Wishaw is a large town which is located in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, on the edge of the Clyde Valley. This Scottish town has a long industrial history based predominately on coal mining and steel production. After the post-industrial age, Wishaw diverted its focus on both the service and retail sectors as an attempt to regenerate the area, this saw the arrival and development of vital buildings, such as, the popular retail park which is situated in the south of the town centre. Today, Wishaw boasts great facilities including a brand new University Hospital, Wishaw Sports Centre and Wishaw Golf Club.
