Living in

Hounslow is a multicultural town located in West London, near Heathrow. It is a relatively affordable place to live, and has a wide range of property types to offer, from purpose-built flats for young professionals to large semi-detached houses for families. There is also a wide selection of schools, and good access to green space, rounding out the requirements for a family-friendly area. For commuters, transport links into and out of Central London by Tube, rail, bus, and road - or even plane - are outstanding.

Community

Hounslow has a good sense of community, with a calendar full of festivals and community events. There's a good mix of locally-owned independent shops, including shops catering to local ethnic groups, in the area.

Safety

In 2014/2015, the crime rate in Hounslow Heath ward was slightly lower than the rate for London as a whole, while the violence against the person rate was very slightly higher. In the period between May 2016 and April 2017, the most common crime types were anti-social behaviour, shoplifting, and violence and sexual offences.

Parking

Parking is about average in this area. The rate of car ownership in this area is slightly high for London, at just under one car per household. Road links - including the A4 and A316, with good connections to the M3, M25, and M4 - are excellent. Heathrow Airport is very easily reached by the Piccadilly Line or by road

Nightlife

There's a wide range of nightlife options in Hounslow itself, including restaurants (especially Indian restaurants), pubs, bars, and the off nightclub. The Piccadilly Line runs a Night Tube service at weekends, which is particularly useful for exploring the nightlife in other parts of London - including Central London.

Hounslow rail station is located in Zone 5, and is served by South West Trains. The area is also well-served by buses, and road links - including the A4 and A316, with good connections to the M3, M25, and M4 - are excellent.
