Living in

Inverkeithing is a port and parish town located in Fife, Scotland, along the north shore of the Firth of Forward. In medieval times, Inverkeithing was a walled town with four ports or gates, which were later removed in the 1500s and recycled to help fuel the growth of the town. Today, Inverkeithing is primarily a commuting town with a population of around 5,280 residents which range from professionals and non-professionals to young families and retirees. Many monuments make up this quaint town, with residents and tourists having the pleasure of being able to explore a variety of historic buildings and landmarks, such as, Mercat Cross which dates back to 1400, Thomsoun's House dating back to 1617 and St Peter's Parish Church dating back to 1827.

There are many reasons why people choose Inverkeithing as their home, the town has a wide range of amenities including local shops, a supermarket, library, several independent stores and specialist stores, such as, a Fishmonger and Butchers. Plenty of interesting attractions can also be discovered both in and around Inverkeithing, with Forth Bridge, The Burryman Parade, Silversands Beach, Deep Sea World, Inner Bay Brewery and more.

Parking

Only a small handful of car parking spaces can be located across Inverkeithing. Other than residential streets and private off-road parking, nearby options can be found at Queen Street, King Street or Chapel Place, which are all within 10 minutes of the town and offered as free spaces.

Nightlife

Not much of a nightlife scene is offered in this historic town, with only a few Pubs and Bars which are located in the town centre. Central Bar, The Half Crown, Burgh Arms and CJ's Nitespot are some nearby options, but if locals are wanting a larger selection of lively venues, they can head over to the nearby capital, Edinburgh. 

Family Friendly

Inverkeithing Primary School and Inverkeithing High School are the only 2 education options on offer directly within the Inverkeithing area. Families would need to head further out to the towns surrounding areas if they are looking for more educations choices. 

Pet Friendly

This area is a great location for pet owners due to the variety of green spaces that are offered. Dog walkers can choose to take their furry friends to explore the scenic parks of Ballast Bank public park, Run Free Dog Fields, Rosyth Public Park, Admiralty Park and Jubilee Park.

Transport

Inverkeithing Station provides access to the Caledonian Sleeper, LNER and ScotRail services. Residents can find regular trains to Edinburgh in under 30 minutes and to the nearby areas of Hartwood, Cardonal, Gretna Green, Altnabreac, Yoker and more. Local buses also serve the area.
