Owners Comments... Since stumbling on the little oasis that is Stanbury Gate, we have found it difficult to leave but here we are 14 years later and the move to the South is finally the reality. We were first attracted to Spencers Wood back in 2010 when we were looking for a short term , 2 years max, property to tide us over until we moved to the south coast. The key factors were the transport links, we needed to be in central London in around 1 hour, easy access to Heathrow and the M3. Since then,the Mere Oak park and ride, local buses and The Elizabeth line have made access even better. In recent years there has been significant investment in local services such as parks, community halls, schools, doctors, dentists etc being built. This makes Spencers Wood a great family environment but with a village feel.The communal space is incredibly tranquil and hosts a rare (for urban areas) array of wildlife, Owls can be heard at night, deer visit in the early morning ,every spring the pond is home to ducks, ducklings, moorhens and their chicks .There is also a colony of greater crested newts. Having said that, it is also the perfect place for family or neighborhood BBQ's, chat with the neighbours or quiet sundowners.The field adjacent to our land is perfect for walks with or without dogs and leads to road free spaces.Area Comments... Stanbury Gate is nicely tucked away not far off Basingstoke Road and is a beautiful private mews style development sets in stunning communal grounds with a pond. You also have various walk ways and cut-throughs taking you out to either Mays Farm Sang, which in turn leads up to Deardon fields of further down to Langley Mead Nature reserve, perfect for those that love a stroll or daily bit of green. You also have Ryeish Green Sports Hub just a short walk away, local amenities like your One Stop or Budgens and some very popular pubs too. You also have easy access into Reading or Wokingham towns, making this location perfect for convenience whilst also being able to switch off from the business of day to day life.Dan & Neil Estate Agent's Comments...All the years we have been in the area, we never really knew just what was tucked behind the private entrance to the development. Well now we do an its just fabulous! Let's start with the home, having three bedrooms two with big windows and the main overlooking the gardens to the rear, what a way to wake up.
