Field Stile is an attractive stone built farmhouse and converted and extended barn and byre, offering extensive and flexible accommodation in a perfect countryside location. Although it has been renovated for modern living including air conditioning units in several rooms, Field Stile contains wonderful hints of character and history, including original stonework in the kitchen and hallway walls, and exposed wooden beams on the sitting room ceiling. The property is peaceful and quiet with no immediate neighbours, but several other properties dotted across the fields create a small, friendly rural community. With the potential to separate a section of the main house off to create an annexe, workshop space and gardens, grounds and woodland extending to around five acres, Field Stile offers an amazing opportunity for a dream country lifestyle. The entrance most often used by the current owners of Field Stile leads straight into the heart of the home; the kitchen/dining room. This delightful and spacious true farmhouse kitchen with solid oak units, a large island bench and ESSE range cooker is light and welcoming. A door leads through to a separate hallway and entrance for a store room and large workshop with power. Off to the other side of the kitchen, a modern utility room is plumbed for a washing machine and tumble dryer, and offers fantastic storage for muddy boots and coats.
Head up a step into the open-plan sitting room with double windows and another door to the garden, and one of the two staircases up to the first floor. A decorated cast iron fire surround on the chimney breast adds a charming character feature to the room and on the opposite side of the room a wood burning stove sits in an inglenook fireplace with an original timber lintel above. From the sitting room, a door leads into the rear hallway from which a modern bathroom with bath and shower cubicle, and a back door to the garden can be found. Beside this is the drawing room, a beautiful light, airy dual aspect room with four windows along one wall alone. A second wood burner, in keeping with the tradition of the property stands in the large inglenook. To one side of the drawing room is a recessed area set up as a library and cosy reading corner.
Back in the rear hallway is a shower room, independent access to the garden, another staircase to the first floor and a room that could be used as a downstairs bedroom, a home office, a gym or any other number of uses. An interconnecting door also leads back into the drawing room. This wing of the house could be separated off in a variety of ways to create an annexe for guests, teenagers or older family members or possibly even as an Airbnb.
To the first floor are four good sized bedrooms, all with stunning views over open fields. They are serviced by a WC and wash hand basin, which can also be accessed via one of the bedrooms.
Externally
The outside of Field Stile is magical with woodland, a stream running through it, a wooden jetty extending onto a large pond and a waterfall. Beside the house are well-tended lawns with mature flowers, shrubs and trees, a graveled area to the rear and a patio to the side, perfect for sitting out on. A greenhouse provides further opportunities for green fingers or simply as storage. The paved driveway offers ample parking for several vehicles and includes access to an electric vehicle charging point.
Field Stile extends to approximately 4.82 acres in total.
