1. Roundhay Park

As the biggest park in Leeds and one of the biggest in Europe, Roundhay Park provides locals with 700 acres of stunning land where tourists and residents can choose to visit 2 different lakes, Tropical World, a playground, tennis courts or The Mansion for some lunch and tea.

 

 

2. Leeds Playhouse

“Leeds Playhouse is a vital theatre. This shopping centre is impressive not only because of the endless designer shops that are on offer, but the incredible architecture and beautiful stained-glass roof that is on display. 5. Kirkstall Abbey

Kirkstall Abbey is a preserved Cistercian monastery which draws in many visitors. Founded in 1152 by a community of Cistercian monks, Kirkstall Abbey gained its wealth from keeping sheep for the wool trade. In 1540, the Abbey was surrendered to Henry VIII as part of the dissolution of the monasteries and where some buildings were destroyed others were left standing and used for agricultural purposes.

 

 

6. Leeds Kirkgate Market

With its 19th-century exterior and buzzing indoor market, the Kirkgate Market is a wonderfully iconic place that needs to be visited by anyone who lives in or is passing through Leeds. Walk your way between hundreds of traditional stalls that sell anything from fresh fruit and veg to loose tea, herbs and street food.

 

 

7. First Direct Arena

It’s a known fact that Leeds has a booming nightlife and one which offers a great selection of music and venues. The First Direct Arena is an indoor entertainment venue that was officially opened in September 2013 when Sir Elton John performed to an audience of 12,000 people. The arena has since welcomed a range of performers, including Blink 182, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey and Westlife, and is still hosting many remarkable shows.
