Armagh Area Guides

The smallest of Northern Ireland’s counties, Armagh is nevertheless chock full of history, culture, and scenery. Sometimes called the Orchard of Ireland because of the numerous apple orchards in the north of the county, Armagh is home to the Bramley apple and an annual Apple Blossom Festival. Armagh City has its own beauty, too, with its fine Georgian architecture and historic Catholic and Anglican churches. Houses in the area, even in Armagh city centre, are affordable, and there is new investment in the area. There are limited rail connections, but the area’s best transport links are buses, which take around an hour from Armagh city centre to Belfast.
