This charming detached double fronted Edwardian family home is a veritable Tardis of a property. Once you walk through the original stained glass front door you can begin to appreciate the spaciousness and flexible accommodation available coupled to a warm and friendly atmosphere. The house has been considerably extended by the current owner and it has just been completely redecorated so the decor is in pristine condition. A brand new and attractive kitchen has recently been installed and includes bespoke storage units and a range of integrated appliances as well as a large and very useful storage cupboard where the fireplace used to be. There is also a long breakfast bar under the window where you can enjoy views across the easy to maintain garden and a few steps down to the vast, adjacent utility room. This was originally the garage and includes a selection of storage cupboards and a long work surface so makes an excellent extension to the kitchen. You will also find a lovely sun room with a wall of windows and door access to the upper and lower courtyard areas. Here you can enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and a glass of wine at any time of the year while still feeling you are close to the great outdoors. For ease of catering the large formal dining room can be accessed directly from the kitchen. This impressive room is ideal if you enjoy entertaining larger parties, hosting dinners or having family get togethers for festive celebrations and Sunday lunches. At the front of the property there is a delightful study with the original bay window including its stained glass skylights, picture rails, coving and a ceiling rose as well as a fireplace mantle surround. This room could also become a fourth bedroom as, on the opposite side of the house, there is an elegant lounge that includes an impressive original fireplace with Edwardian tiling and a wood surround. The original staircase is complemented by an attractive carved dado rail and takes you to the galleried landing.

What the Owner says:
“We moved here 40 years ago and have absolutely loved everything about the house. However sadly I lost my wife recently so have decided to move into a bungalow. One of the things that really appealed to us about the house was its lovely period features and friendly atmosphere. Not to mention the position. It is only four minutes walk to Louisa Bay or to the town centre yet is extremely quiet and peaceful. It is a great home for family life and for entertaining and I was delighted to extend the property when we first moved here to provide more space for friends and family as well as ourselves to enjoy. In addition to the sea and the town centre we are in an ideal location for families with children. You can walk the kids to the local St Mildred's Primary School and Upton Junior School, which are both rated Outstanding by Ofsted while there is also an excellent grammar school nearby that also rated Outstanding and two well established private prep schools. It is just a short stroll to the mainline station for commuting to Canterbury and London, where the high speed train can whisk you to St Pancras in under an hour and a half. The town also includes a number of sporting clubs such as the renowned North Foreland Golf Club as well as rugby, bowls, tennis and cricket clubs. Broadstairs is a lovely Victorian seaside town with plenty of activities and events including Folk Week, Dickens Week and the Food Festival".
