Property description

Property
This attractive period house with elevations of red brick and shingle tile was built in circa 1870 and has been renovated and extended by the current owners. It has been finished to a high standard throughout, with a great mixture of period detail and contemporary style.

The entrance door opens into a large reception room measuring over 23 ft in length with stairs to the first floor on the right hand side. It is a wonderful room with two large bay windows and a delightful wood burning stove providing a lovely focal point to the room.

At the rear of the house overlooking the garden is a fantastic open plan kitchen / dining space which has been designed for modern family living. The kitchen itself has a range of ‘shaker’ style wall and base units with chrome handles, wooden worktops with integrated double butler sink and chamfered tiled splash back. An island breakfast bar offers an informal place to sit and eat and included is an electric range oven and dishwasher. Patio doors open straight out into the garden and a large pyramid roof light make this a wonderful bright space.

Upstairs the first floor landing leads to three good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is dual aspect and benefits from views across the village allotments. The family bathroom has been finished in a contemporary style with a white suite including bath and shower over and sink with integrated vanity unit.

The property has oil fired central heating and double glazing throughout.

Outside
The front of the house is set behind a low brick wall with an attractive picket gate which leads to the front door. A cobbled stone driveway on the left hand side provides off road parking for 2 cars and access to the back garden.

To the rear there is a large patio and a fantastic private garden, which is south facing, offering space for children to play or for you to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There are well stocked borders with a wide range of flowering and herbaceous shrubs and plants together with a good sized area of lawn. A new shed provides handy outside storage space and there is even a gate offering direct access into the allotments behind.

Situation
Shoreham is a picturesque village on the banks of the River Darent. The village offers a local shop, primary school, church, railway station (Thameslink route) and several pubs.

Otford village, which is approximately 2 miles away, offers a further variety of local shops and station (London Victoria). Otford has its own primary school together with Russell House and St. Michael's preparatory schools.

More comprehensive shopping and further educational facilities in both the state and private sectors can be found at Sevenoaks, which is approximately 5.5 miles away.

Extensive sporting and leisure facilities include golf at Darenth Valley in Shoreham, Wildernesse and Knole in Sevenoaks and Nizels in Hildenborough, which also has a health and fitness centre. Sevenoaks Swimming and Leisure centre, The Vine Cricket Ground and Knole Park.
