Ryton is a semi-rural town in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead, which is located in Tyne and Wear, North East England. The town became a desirable area for affluent residents due to the close proximity to the urban and industrial areas of Newcastle and Gateshead, and there are several old mansions at the old Ryton village which still remain today. Buses also serve the area for local travel.
