Living in

Tulse Hill is a relatively quiet residential area. It is popular with families, who appreciate its leafy character and the relatively affordable houses. Transport links are pretty good despite Tulse Hill not having its own Tube station, and though the area itself is residential, it is possible to walk to culture and entertainment hotspots like neighbouring Brixton.

Tulse Hill is a diverse area that is popular with families. It is a relatively quiet residential area, and some may head to nearby places like Brixton to shop, dine, or socialise. 

Safety

Tulse Hill is a safe place to live, with the Met police rating the neighbourhood and the surroundings as having average crime. The 2014/2015 crime rate and violence against the person rate were comparable to the rates for London overall, though the violence against the person rate was a touch higher. There is a small, concentrated high-crime hotspot surrounding Brixton station nearby.

Parking

Tulse Hill is an area where parking is about average. The rate of car ownership in this area is fairly low for London, at one car for every two households. Road links, including the South Circular and the A23, are good - but often congested. 

Nightlife

There's a handful of pubs and restaurants, but it isn't a nightlife hotspot. Nearby Brixton is a nightlife hotspot famous for everything from bars to live music venues, and transport links to Brixton and other nearby nightlife areas are fairly good. 

Family Friendly

This is a fairly good place to look for a family home, as it has a moderate supply of terraced houses. Tulse Hill is very green, and has excellent access to children's play areas - it is nestled between the expanses of Brockwell Park and Belair Park and has several smaller parks dotted throughout the area. Schools in this area are generally good, and the percentage of residents who are children aged 0-15 is very slightly higher here than in London as a whole.

Pet Friendly

The range of property available in Tulse Hill includes mostly terraced houses, many of which have been subdivided into flats - so it is possible to find a suitable home for pets here. Tulse Hill also has excellent access to green space, as it is nestled between the expanses of Brockwell Park and Belair Park and has several smaller parks dotted throughout the area. 

Transport

Tulse Hill is located in Zone 3 and served by several rail stations. Tulse Hill is served by Southern and Thameslink trains. West Dulwich is served by Southeastern. Herne Hill is served by Southeastern and Thameslink. Nearby Brixton offers an interchange with the Victoria Line. The area is well-served by local buses - and road links, including the South Circular and the A23, are good - but often congested.
