Rhondda Cynon Taff Area Guides

Imposing mountains, valleys, and pretty waterfalls comprise this region of Wales located north of Cardiff. The valleys for which the county is named — Rhondda, Cynon and Taf — each have a main town and several villages running up the valleys. The main employment industries are manufacturing and construction, and the housing stock is mainly iconic terraced houses, but varies across budgets with unusually affordable lower end prices. Some of the county is within commuting distance of Cardiff, but much of the area is a commuter-free rural idyll, with countryside ready to be explored on horseback, on foot, or by bicycle. Most of the area is served by private local bus operators, and some parts also have rail links.
