Newtownabbey Area Guides

Stretching from the shores of the Belfast Lough north toward the Glens of Antrim, the borough of Newtownabbey enjoys a semi-rural setting within a short journey from the Belfast city centre. Some might consider Newtownabbey to be a Belfast suburb, but the M2 motorway separates it from the city, and constitutes its own urban area. Although it is a largely residential area, Newtownabbey is also home to several engineering and computer industries, as well as numerous leisure facilities for everything from golf to horse riding. The area is served by trains on the Belfast-Larne line, and there are numerous bus local bus routes to complement the excellent motorway connections.
