Neath Port Talbot Area Guides

Although most residents of this county borough live in the coastal area around Port Talbot and the town of Neath, there is great variation in this area’s landscape. While Neath Port Talbot has several larger towns that are part of the Swansea Urban Area, you can also find smaller villages amongst the forested mountain terrain, river valleys, and dunes. The varied terrain also offers numerous leisure opportunities. Afan Forest Park is renowned for its mountain biking trails, while Aberavon Beach is popular with surfers and tourists visit Gnoll Country Park’s lakes, waterfalls, and mansion ruins all year round. Numerous local buses operate in the area, which also has good road and rail connections. Although Neath Port Talbot is historically an industrial area and still retains its steelworks business, many of the former industrial sites are been repurposed for shopping and business centres. The area’s schools have a growing reputation, and there are several universities in the area, too.
