Leicester is a city located in the county of Leicestershire, in the East Midlands region of England. Known famously for hosiery, framework knitting, pork pies, and stilton cheese, Leicester has maintained a high level of varied employment for its residents through retail, industrial plants, engineering, and manufacturing. Being positioned so centrally in England, Leicester has always been a hotspot for commuters with transport links allowing professionals and explorers to reach anywhere in the country within 4 hours. Sitting on the edge of a National Forest, Leicester offers many picturesque areas for locals to discover. The city is also a haven for sports fans with Leicester City FC, Leicestershire County Cricket Club, and Leicester Tigers Rugby Club all representing the area. If sports and nature aren't of interest to residents, they can head to the Highcross Shopping Centre which is home to over 100 shops ready to be explored. Leicester city also provides plenty of attractions for tourists and residents to visit, consisting of the Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, National Space Centre, Kirby Muxloe Castle, and Van Gogh- The Immersive Experience.

Parking

Many parking spaces are offered throughout Leicester with locals able to pay either hourly or monthly for a secure private spot. Some central car parking options can be found at Burgess Street, St. John Street Car Park and Exchange Building Car Park.

Transport

Because of its central location, Leicester is certainly the place to be whether you are looking for quick and easy travel to either the North, South, East or West. By train, residents can reach the likes of Nottingham in 30 minutes, Birmingham in 50 minutes, London St Pancras in just under an hour, and Sheffield in around 60 minutes. By car, residents have access to the M1, M40, A1M, and M6, which all provide routes to multiple areas across the country. East Midlands Airport (EMA) is the closest to Leicester and can be reached by car via the M1 and A50 in just under 30 minutes.
