Conwy Area Guides

Most of the residents of Conwy County Borough live along the coast, and a third of the land is part of the Snowdonia national park. The town of Conwy, with its high town walls and impressive castle, is compact and beautiful and full of medieval and Victorian buildings. The county is celebrated for its fine local foods in numerous festivals held throughout the year, as well as the area’s history and strong Welsh culture, including a population with notable Welsh language skills. The natural beauty of the river Conwy Estuary and its associated wildlife are yet another attraction for visitors, in addition to Snowdonia and the coast. The area is well connected by road and local buses operate within the county, and rail services to Manchester take about two hours.
